The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) 348th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron was officially disbanded at Larissa AB. To mark the occasion RF-4E 7499 was given a special paint scheme It had “The End Of The Film” in English printed on the starboard side of the fuselage and Greek on the port side; the end of using film, giving way to digital.

This aircraft was a former USAF 69-7499, ex-German 35+52 that had been the Aufklarungsgeschwader 52 “Black Panther” in 1994.

Douglas RF-4E Phantom II

Designed as a fleet defense fighter for the US Navy, the F-4 Phantom was first flown on May 27, 1958. This twin-engine, long-range all-weather fighter/bomber proved highly adaptable and served in the Marine Corps and the US Air Force as well as in the Navy.
